Grayscale PDF

Make a grayscale copy when color is wasted ink or a distraction.

Turn on JavaScript to use this tool. After the page loads, the file is processed in your browser and is not uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Choose the PDF.
  2. Run grayscale. Pages are redrawn on this device.
  3. Download the copy and keep the color original if you still need it.

A color brochure is expensive to print as a draft. Grayscale redraws each page in neutral tones and builds a new PDF at the same page size. It is a visual conversion, not a toggle you can reverse inside the new file.

Text becomes part of the image. If you need to search the words later, keep the original. Long files stop at 80 pages so the browser can finish.

Questions

Does this reduce file size?

Sometimes, but compression is a separate tool with its own quality choices. Grayscale is about color, not about the smallest file.

Can I grayscale one page?

Split that page out, convert it, and merge it back.
