PDF viewer

Read a PDF on this page, with zoom, rotate, and page controls, without uploading it.

Turn on JavaScript to use this tool. After the page loads, the file is processed in your browser and is not uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Choose a PDF, or use the sample file.
  2. The pages fill the screen, with the zoom toolbar above them.
  3. Pinch the page, use − and +, or Rotate, then move to the next page.

A viewer is for reading, not for changing the file. Choosing the file fills the screen with the toolbar and the pages. Fit width matches the screen. Pinch with two fingers, or use − and +, when a line is small. Rotate turns every page 90 degrees on screen and does not save a new file. One finger still scrolls. Leave full screen, or press Esc, to return to the file chooser.

The viewer stops at 80 pages so a phone can finish drawing them. Split a longer file first, then open each part. Password-protected PDFs do not open here. This view is a picture of the pages, so you read them on screen rather than selecting the original text layer.

Questions

Does opening a PDF upload it?

No. The pages are drawn in this tab. Clearing the file or leaving the page drops that working copy.

Can I read it on a phone?

Yes. The viewer fits the page to the screen and the controls stay large enough to tap.
